PANTS ON FIRE

Perhaps if Paul Ryan's pants were on fire he would have run a sub-three hour marathon.  It seems to be fairly well established that Ryan plays fairly loosely with the facts [e.g. the numerous erroneous claims made at the Republican National Convention - or as Salon calls it Ryan's Brazen Lies]  However, one 'misstatement' that I simply cannot tolerate is his claim of running a marathon in "two hour and fifty-something."  As many others have pointed out, anyone who has run a marathon [or fifty] can pretty much recollect the precise time of each effort, often down to the second.  It is unfathomable to think that one could make a claim that was off by more than an hour - Ryan finished his marathon in just over four hours!!!  Perhaps he was using one of my favorite running lines "Ya, I ran that marathon in 2:50 - I just wasn't at the finish line."

I have run 43 marathons. I can tell you that anyone who works hard enough to run one, let alone in 2 hours and fifty some minutes as Ryan claimed, could not possibly be this far off - unintentionally. He has identified himself as a dishonest braggart. You name any one of my 43 and I can be real close in telling you the time, the weather conditions, my place, and about how many runners were in the field. I could tell you my best time to the second.

All politicians are liars, but Ryan seems to run a bit faster and looser with the truth than most. To quote a fellow runner:

"Not only a loser; a jerk and an asshole as well. That could not have possibly been unintentional."

Must be getting awfully uncomfortable out there in Marxland. My liberal friends are becoming Chris Matthews apoplectic.

Not too crazed yet, BB - but it will be if Mitt pulls off the win -which the CU election prediction folks say will happen

What he meant was, he ran "TO" a Marathon. It was a service station a few blocks from his home. His Mama sent him to get her some cigarettes & beer. It's a simple mistake, to misunderstand what he meant. He left out one simple little word in his statement & everyone criticizes him for it...."I ran (to) a marathon."

Ahhhh - it all makes perfect sense now - just a minor mis-speak.

Good one!

Also - Unknown - nice picture! See you in Indiana.

Hey, Lefties, FYI, Obama has the biggest pants blaze. Yes, good one, Unknown. Guess you will see me in Indiana also, but I will not know who you are, unless you boldly step forward and be recognized.

BB - as was noted, all politicians are liars, and it's hard to name a true Number One.

Also you need to become a bit more savvy in your use of your computer. Note how Dr S and Unknown are blue type rather than black? That means there is a link there and all you have to do is click on the blue - you probably will recognize Unknown. I guess you should 'boldly step forward' and admit your limited understanding of hyperlinks :-)

Huge LOL on the hyperlinks! Yes, I should have known better, but didn't think. Maybe at my age it is "couldn't" think. From the looks of the pic, Unknown could "boldly step forward" and I still wouldn't recognize him. I remember Donnie having long grayish hair, but not the beard. My guess is it's Donnie.

BB -as Uncle John' sez - "I ain't tellin'" - so you will have to wait and see!

What? Paul Ryan lied to us? In that case, "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

Dr S said...

Good to hear that you are still at it Howard, especially since I thought you were dead :-)

Good thing Howard is dead. I googled "Debbie Wasserman Schultz and lies" and it came back with 334,000 entries. Howard is, indeed, doing backflips in his grave.

Not so fast there, Biz. I Googled "Billy Graham and Lies" and it returned 3,130,000 entries.

Monday through Thursday in Charlotte, the skies were aglow from the flames of pants on fire.

Just wonderin' what the point is. Does it mean that since Paul Ryan told a fib we should support the Dems and become God hating, ghey loving, baby butchering Marxists?

Just Askin' - of course.
