ONE EYED SUBARU

I could not find an image of a Subaru with one headlamp out, which is a bit surprising since in this neck of the woods, about half of the cars on the road with one headlamp burned out are Subarus.   A Google search on the subject does not yield too much information, but I am convinced that there is either an engineering or a manufacturing flaw in the lamp.  I brought this up to the local dealership, and the service tech acted surprised - am I really the only person who has noticed this phenomenon??  I have had to replace at least one bulb per year, and recently had to replace the right headlamp housing [to the tune of $438.02] because a shorted wire fried the whole assembly.   Perhaps other Subaru owners can chime in.

Guess I will harbor no more thoughts of replacing my Camry with a Subaru. Back in high school, we called an approaching vehicle with one light out a perdiddle. First one who called it out was supposed to get a kiss.

Don't remember the "perdiddle" but do remember the call for a kiss :-)

Lol! Wonder how I became Bizzy Brainabsolute? Must have typed one of those "Please prove you're not a robot" words in the wrong place.

Bizzy - I wondered about that - thought that it might be related to the brand of alcohol you were consuming :-)

I haven't owned a Subaru for 20 years, but I recall replacing headlamps on several occasions. Winter driving on sanded Wyoming roads probably had something to do with it.

I never noticed any particular brand having this happen more than others, but I do notice more one-eyes in the fall when it starts getting dark early.

Have you pulled them Obama sticker off your Subaru yet?

Red, the "cash for clunkers" program got about 85% of the Obama stickers off the road.

Good ones, Bizzy and S3 :-) There still are quite a number of Obama stickers around Boulder, some on Subarus, but I am neither a bumper sticker person nor a fan of any Democrat or Republican!!

And Great Tomato One - Wyo and CO road can indeed be tough on the headlamps, but I am still biased - saw some more one-eyed Subarus back in IN and MI on our Midwest travels.
