THE NEWT

I can only hope that Newt Gingrich will run for President because Newt-isms and Newt-logic make for fine Daily Show material.  Here is an example from a recent AP story:

"I have two grandchildren...." Gingrich said at Cornerstone Church. "I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American."

Huh??  Wouldn't a secular atheist country be dominated by secular atheists?  I can't quite understand how a secular atheist country can be dominated by a radical religious sect.  Sounds like Newt was just stringing together talking points that he hoped would stir up as much fear as possible.  Newt also seems to be quite good at 1984-speak, intimating that his divorces and extramarital affairs are signs of being a very moral person.  The story continued:

But Gingrich was mum on his own controversial past, one of marital indiscretions and divorces that have made courting religious conservatives a tall task as he nears a likely presidential run. Over the last year, through religious news outlets, Gingrich has sought to explain and seek forgives for those infidelities. Standing on the dais of Cornerstone Church, a prominent evangelical congregation led by the pastor John Hagee, Gingrich avoided the subject. Just hours earlier, Gingrich had insisted on Fox News that leading the impeachment charge against Bill Clinton while in an affair himself did not amount to hypocrisy.

Newt also does not seem to understand the definition of hypocrisy.  He also stressed that it was his love of his country, his patriotism that drove him to work so hard that he was simply drawn into his affairs.

A lady friend of mine was surprised at Newt's affairs because she thinks he is such a creep that no woman in her right mind would go to bed with him.

Ha! That thought never crossed my mind!

I predict Barack Obama will be re-elected President. America is under divine judgment and God put a destroyer, an enemy of freedom, into the highest office in the land. Obama and his lieutenants are tightening their grip with every move they make. The resultant economic, social, and political chaos is a perfect playground for a coherent, well focused program of totalitarian control.

So, Nostra, why do you think the country is under divine judgment?

NostraDA - methinks you have been watching too much Jack Van Impe and his plasticized sidekick Rexella [? wife, daughter, could be mother!] How long can one prophesize and predict the just-around-the-corner end times? I think that time will prove both you and Jack wrong. Besides, I doubt that there could ever be totalitarian control in this country - too many people would say enough of this bs and purge the system of such 'leaders.' And how can such an ineffective president be tightening a grip on anything? If you want to look at who is holding the aces, don't look in DC, look in the corporate boardrooms.

Dr. S, ROFLMAO re: your “plasticized” Rexella comments. I DO watch them occasionally, but not “too much” as you chide. A little of Jack and Rexella goes a long way as the program seems to be mainly an infomercial for their books and tapes. They, however, still continue to go strong despite their ages. Jack will be 80 this year and Rexella will be 79. She does have a lovely singing voice (unless it is being dubbed). I cringe when they call each other “doctor,” as their doctorates were granted by Pacific International University, an unaccredited diploma mill, where courses are taken via correspondence. Also, touting such degrees on one’s resume is illegal in some states.
I would not agree that Obama is an ineffective President. He is achieving his goals of undermining Israel, weakening this nation in the eyes of the world, and destroying the U.S. economy in order to establish a classic Marxist “class struggle” environment, i.e. no jobs, $4 gas, and all other social and economic ills are due to the “rich’ class that must be “overthrown” or put in economic shackles, except for the ones funding the Dems.
