THERE IS A SHIP

A previous post about The Water is Wide made me look back to the "old days" when many of us were listening to Peter, Paul and Mary.  Here is Mary Travers singing the same tune, but under the title There is a Ship.

I sure do remember the Peter, Paul, and Mary days. Their music is part of my "musical decade," that period of time in a person's life when the music of the times has maximum impact. Always got a kick out of "Puff the Magic Dragon" interpreters saying the lyrics were about drug use. Am thinking you would have to be on drugs to think that was the case.

Yes, PP&M were a big part of the 60's and 70's music and war protest scenes. A lot of us were trying to figure out how to ask Mary out for a date :-)

About Puff - those were the days when folks scoured every song for hidden messages. We poured over the Beatles songs and album covers, convinced that Paul was dead!

Wow! I remember those days, and the arguments seemed convincing at the time.

So, Jack, we've had our fun, but I felt compelled to delete our conversation, for the children! :-)

Yes, Astor - for the children; bye bye. :-)
