MENNOLINK SUNSET

 http://peacemaking.com/mennolin.gif

The news was not surprising:

With MennoLink activity slowing to a crawl over the past several years, I have decided it is time to acknowledge that it has served its purpose and end the service.

I plan to turn the lights out on MennoLink at the end of December this year.  Until then, you have time to wrap up any loose ends you may have with topics that are unique to this forum. If there are people you connect with mainly on MennoLink, this is a time to find alternate ways to stay in touch.

The MennoLink bookstore is also closing. We are motivated to reduce our inventory as much as possible over the next several months. Visit

and order online or make Laura an offer by calling 507 427 3105. If it is in inventory, she is likely to accept any reasonable offer (usually there is only one copy of each title in inventory).

When MennoLink was born, it was cutting edge regarding electronic discussions.  It grew and grew, with a variety of subcategories of discussion groups with hundreds of subscribers and many regular participants.  A couple of notables were Charlie Kraybill and Ross Bender, with Barry King as the conservative foil to the more liberal contributors.  As Jon Harder notes, the activity has slowed to a crawl, with presumably folks spending more time at other venues such as FaceBook or their own blogs.  However, I have not found any other forum where there is such a wide and deep discussion as there was at MennoLink.  I will miss it.

I never heard of Mennolink. Maybe just as well as you are the only Mennonite who has published any of my comments. Did not have luck with the Mennonite World Review where my comments were submitted but not published. The Harvey Yoder blog requires some kind of Google account be set up before comments are received for posting. Never had luck getting that going and was not able to submit anything.

  2. Ha! I think that I have had to delete only a comment or two from you Bizzy :-) Not even sure how I originally found out about MennoLink, but it was interesting while it lasted - and you would have been welcome because there were many non-Menno participants and actually one or two conservative Republicans :-) So - your comments are always welcome and generally appreciated! Cheers.

Nothing pleases me more than to see Peyton take his team down the field with less than two minutes remaining and pass for a touchdown, especially in view of the crap treatment he got from his old boss, drug addict and all around schmuck, Jim Irsay. Don't know if you follow the Colts, but right now they are as good as they are ever going to get, which ain't saying much.

  7. Ah, yes Bizzy - you have a special 'love ' for Irsay, eh? :-) This may be the last hurrah for Peyton - he can look very good and very bad, all in the same set of downs. Not sure how he and Kubiak will mesh, but hoping for the best; would be great if he could go out with a Super Bowl win. The rest of the Denver pro teams suck as does CU football. More on that later......

The Broncos don't have to have a perfect quarterback in order to win the Super Bowl. The Ravens did it with a quarterback they were going to trade the next season. Moral of the story is the Ravens won with a superb defense. Broncos can do the same.
