    The most common word to describe the action of the cops has been "despicable" - have to agree.

    There was a neighboorhood candlelight vigil Sunday evening. About 200 folks showed up on Mountain View which is just a couple of blocks from our place. We took Si and Noelle, and four-year-old Noe summed it up: "These people cared about the elk and the police didn't." The organizer put it in the proper perspective - while we will fondly remember our neighborhood elk, there are far greater tragedies occurring every day in the US and around the world.
