From Gawker: "The big news for 2011 is that Tennessee has moved from the list of the most obese down to the list of "almost the most obese," while Indiana has soared to great new lows, taking Tennessee's place on the list of the fat shamed."
Good News Bad News - Colorado remains the slimmest amongst the 50 states, but its obesity rate of nearly 20% would have made it the fattest state a couple of dozen years ago.

Glad you liked it. It appeared in The Indianapolis Star December 11th. Gary Varvel is a church acquaintance of mine. Although he belongs to a different Baptist church, his daughter is a member of my church. Title of the cartoon is Indiana's Health Ranking.

ReplyDeleteHa! I always thought they were oblivious!
Oh dear. Yet another reason I'll never move back. It cost big money to have the Hoosier surgically removed from me. Haha.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that explains "Hoosier Hospitality." Aren't fat people supposed to be more cheerful and outgoing then slender folks?
ReplyDelete272 - that is a hoot!!! De-Hoosiered, so to speak :-) But maybe it also decreased your hospitality.....
ReplyDeleteThe chart was very interesting. I am happy I moved into a greener state. I always seem to pick up a few more pounds while visiting Hoosierland.
