Heidelberg im Herbst
Although it does not quite look like this now, fall is indeed here and the leaves are beginning to change colors. And why are you in Heidelberg you might ask. When Rhonda and I returned to Colorado after working at Pepperdine for a number of years, we told the Dean of International Programs that if he ever got into a pinch with finding a faculty member for one of their sites, we might be able to step in. Well, that happened - two days before the fall semester! The faculty member who had interviewed all of the students and was set to teach and be house parent had to cancel at the very last moment. With some scurrying around, I was able to get here on Sunday, and because of a variety of details to take care of in Boulder, Rhonda will be coming to Germany later in the semester. So, for the next several months, the View will be mainly from Deutschland.
Must be nice to live in a sane country, albeit temporarily.
ReplyDeleteTemporarily sane or temporarily living? Ya, ya, I know you meant living but couldn't resist. And at least at the moment Germany certainly appears more sane than the USA, and that indeed may hold up in the long run. I'll ask the Germans here if they agree with you :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll ask them myself. Are you encouraging visitation, like you did in Argentina and Hong Kong? (And Goshen? Lol.)
ReplyDeleteIndeed you can ask them yourself!! The set-up here is not quite as accommodating as Buenos Aires - more like Hong Kong where you would have to find a hotel. I have seen at least one nice place close to the Pepperdine Moore Haus and there are many more 'down the hill' where it is much flatter! Come on over - let me know your plans if you decide to do so.
