Perspectives of a Colorado Curmudgeon on topics ranging from Basketball to Music to Science & Religion to Travel to Memories, touching on a bit of everything.
I believe Sigmund Fraud once said, "Human beings have an instinct for destruction and that instinct demands satisfaction. Until the human race become metamorphosed into a band of angels [or Mennonites], this law of destruction will prevail. People destroy other people, places, and things because they like to or want to or are compelled to."
I think Fraud missed the mark on numerous things, this one included. The only 'instinct' for destruction that truly demands satisfaction is food and water, and many folks have figured out sustainable ways of doing this. Greed is what destroys other people, places and things - and not because of being compelled but rather by choice.
