Taunting and celebration are so tightly regulated in college football, and even in the pros, that it takes a lot of fun out of the game. Are football players such pussies that they can't handle a little so-called "taunting?" I liked the good old days when Dick Butkus would flatten you and on your way to the ground, strip the ball, and as you lie there half knocked out and wondering "W-what happened?" he'd be right there shaking the ball in your face. Today he would be penalized.Phil L.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33475986.post-80548157523827512812011-10-11T17:00:05.783-06:002011-10-11T17:00:05.783-06:00Hey - the big news on KOA-Denver this afternoon is...Hey - the big news on KOA-Denver this afternoon is that the Broncos are going to name Tebow the starter in the next game vs Miami. They have a bye this week and then play the Dolphins, and there is an outside chance that Orton could be traded to Miami and thus there would be a face-to-face!<br /><br />I am so happy to see that the power of this blog brought the Bronco management to their senses!!!!DEShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03535087176533944091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33475986.post-22473775223443479472011-10-10T09:33:21.258-06:002011-10-10T09:33:21.258-06:00Well, I am glad to see that the Ponies took your a...Well, I am glad to see that the Ponies took your advice and put in Tebow in the second half against the Chargers. He almost pulled it off. It will be interesting to see who starts the next game.hoosierdaddynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33475986.post-78890626722581262982011-10-07T11:08:40.994-06:002011-10-07T11:08:40.994-06:00Cuz - you make a good point. Some folks would call this the tyranny of the minority, and really is a difficult balancing act to preserve the rights of the minorities and avoid the tyranny of the majority.DEShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03535087176533944091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33475986.post-31348180016797144452011-10-07T08:59:54.938-06:002011-10-07T08:59:54.938-06:00Perhaps the most distinguishing attribute of Tim T...Perhaps the most distinguishing attribute of Tim Tebow is that he's a devout, "unashamed", Bible believing Christian. Many people don't feel comfortable with that. If he were a Jew or Muslim, no problem. But staunch Jesus believer? After all, it is show biz. As a side note, my football buddy and I, while Purdue students, had a tradition we called "pint after touchdown." After a touchdown, we would take a swig from our half pints of Kessler bourbon we took to each game. Or, if it was a low scoring game, we might observe a fine running play and say, "Hey, I'll drink to that."Bizzy Brainnoreply@blogger.com
